Michelle Russel – AKT Trainer of the Month

1) Where are you from?
Sunny Miami, FL.
2) Education?
I started my dance career at The DanceXchange in Miami, FL, where I studied everything under the sun (literally). I continued my dance education in high school at New World School of the Arts,  also in Miami, FL. As a ‘fighting pigeon,’ I was able to really hone in on my dance skills and develop my artistry. After  graduating high school, I went to the Florida State University and obtained a BFA in Dance and a minor in business. While there I found a love for dance film and became certified to teach Pilates Mat through Balanaced Body.
3) Why dancing?
Dancing has been my rock from the start. I’ve never found another means of communication that has statisfied me so perfectly.
4) What do you love about AKT the most?
I love the energy that I receive from both the clients and my colleagues. There’s no such thing as a bad day when I’m around my AKT family.
5) How to make it through an AKT workout?
Drink lots of water before, during, and after your workout. SMILE and enjoy the experience.
6) Your advise to an AKT Newbie?
Come into class with no expectations. This way, you’ll really be able to live in the moment and take your experience for what it is.
7) How do you unwind after a busy day?
After a busy day, I love to catch a documentary on Netflix, eat some fruit, and kick my feet up.
8) How do you spend your days off?
I like to spend my days doing a little self pampering. HELLO mani & pedi
