Been working out all winter or finally come out of hibernation? With summer right around the corner, it’s time to step your game up! Check out these 5 tips and tricks from AKTrainer, Kate, to revitalize your fitness routine. 1. Pump Up the Jam
Find some tunes that really get you going! I find that music can change my mood and put me in the zone! I love to rock out on my way to my workout, I even have a special playlist. 2. Dress the Part
Have you been feeling sloppy and lackluster in your workouts? Could it be because you’re wearing your roommates’ sweatpants and a T-Shirt from senior year of High School? Dress the part! If you aren’t sure where to start, try highlighting the body parts you want to work on! If you want to tone your legs and build a booty like Beyonce, try a sleek pair of leggings and keep your eyes on the prize! 3. Switch It Up
If you are constantly doing the same classes, same weights, same times each week, it’s time for a summer shakeup! If you usually take class in the evenings, try a workout in the morning. You’ll be surprised how it energizes your day. In class, change up the weights or resistance that you normally use. Stand in a new spot in the room and gain a new perspective.
4. Grab a Buddy
Find a friend or partner who wants to kill it at the gym just as much as you do! Plan your fitness dates for the week and commit to going. It totally keeps you accountable plus a little friendly competition is a great motivator!
If your body is begging for a rest, it might just be what you need! It’s always awesome to push yourself but working out when you are totally exhausted can leave you feeling unaccomplished. Instead of dragging yourself through your workout, take the day off and give your body a well-deserved rest!
